Job Title: Bilingual Accounting Coordinator

Triovest is seeking a highly motivated and organized Bilingual Accounting Coordinator to join our team in either Toronto or Montreal. As a key member of our Property Accounting group, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions related to property-level accounts payable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Input property-related invoice details into our accounting system, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Ensure accurate coding and obtain timely approvals for invoice processing, minimizing late fees and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Review and action items on AP aging, generating reports as needed to support timely payment of property taxes and utilities.
  • Monitor and ensure timely payment of property taxes and utilities, maintaining an organized AP filing system for efficient record-keeping.
  • Address and actively resolve issues with external vendors and internal departments to minimize late fees and ensure compliance.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies, providing accurate and timely information to support financial decision-making.
  • Assist with the preparation of sales tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate and support cross-functional teams in Property Operations, Capital Projects, Leasing, and Corporate Accounting.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests, projects, and initiatives as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least one year of accounts payable experience, with a strong understanding of commercial real estate and property management principles.
  • Proficient in both English and French, with the ability to read French invoices and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in commercial real estate and/or property management is an asset, as is familiarity with Yardi and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly motivated and results-driven, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
