About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Manager to join our Mental Health and Addictions Intake team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing priorities of the portfolio by supporting the ongoing development and implementation of assigned MHA Intake program services and initiatives.

The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Provincial Manager of Mental Health and Addictions Intake Services to ensure the effective and efficient use of human, fiscal, and material resources in the delivery of quality client-centered care. This includes collaborating with the Provincial Clinical Practice Lead to implement initiatives that support standardization and advancement of person-centered services within each of the Zones of Nova Scotia Health.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in healthcare and leadership. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in health or a related field and be eligible for registration with a relevant health or professional discipline. A minimum of 3-5 years of recent and related progressive leadership experience is required, with experience in Mental Health and Addictions an asset.

The successful candidate will possess strong working knowledge of mental health and addictions care delivery systems in hospital and community settings. They will also have evidence of commitment to a healthy workplace and the use of best practices in building and sustaining staff competencies, ensuring good communication and involvement of staff and clients/residents in decisions that affect them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of assigned MHA Intake program services and initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Provincial Manager of Mental Health and Addictions Intake Services to ensure effective and efficient use of resources
  • Work with the Provincial Clinical Practice Lead to implement initiatives that support standardization and advancement of person-centered services
  • Develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff to ensure delivery of quality client-centered care
