Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role
The Montreal industrialization team at ELYSIS is responsible for designing and industrializing the equipment and workshops needed to operate the smelter of the future. This cutting-edge technology will transform the aluminum industry and improve its environmental performance for future generations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop smelter and aluminum production equipment
- Draft technical specifications and requirements documents for suppliers for equipment manufacturing and quality control protocols
- Draw files and participate in improving existing installations or equipment
- Define and coordinate tests for prototype qualification and conduct associated risk analyses
- Conduct technical assistance missions for the project, audits, prototype qualification, and capture feedback from experiences
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design
- 7-10 years of experience in mechanical design and management of technical projects in the aluminum industry
- Mastery of mechanical design tools (Solidworks and Autocad)
- Membership in the Order of Engineers of Québec
- You are a self-starter, rigorous, and able to synthesize information
- You enjoy working as part of a team and have the right interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people, including international contacts
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
