Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role
The Mechanical Intern will work collaboratively with the R&D Engineering team to design and develop cutting-edge medical devices through testing and create various technical documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and create advanced CAD models of parts, assemblies, and equipment using SolidWorks tools.
- Develop and maintain drawings in SolidWorks following internal Global Boston Scientific Corporation CAD standards and templates.
- Utilize CAD Database Management tool to track drawings, parts, assemblies' revisions, and properties.
- Conduct research, development, design, and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes, and equipment.
- Perform feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
- Develop new concepts from initial design to market release.
- Lead support personnel and coordinate project activities.
- Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering Student or graduate.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with CAD Software such as SolidWorks.
- Strong mechanical engineering CAD skills, specifically with plumbing, tubing assemblies, and sheet metal design using a CAD software.
- Solid lab experience with debug, fixtures, and test equipment.
- Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work with a team efficiently and independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with geometrical tolerancing and CAD design.
- Experience with thermodynamics and flow analysis.
- Experience using Solidworks Electrical 2D schematic and 3D Routing.
