Job Summary

Techaid is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team of experts in seismic engineering and mechanical system design. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing complex problems and designing innovative solutions to solve them.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze complex problems and design innovative solutions to solve them, utilizing your expertise in structural mechanics, material strength, and thermal expansion.
  2. Collaborate with other engineers and professionals within and outside the organization to deliver safe and efficient services on time and on budget.
  3. Develop and implement design prototypes for non-structural seismic projects, leveraging your knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or Pro/Engineer.
  4. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and communication.
  5. Attend meetings, provide information, and analyze data to write comprehensive reports.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. At least 10 years of experience in carrying out engineering projects, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  3. Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or Pro/Engineer to create 3D models and design prototypes.
  4. In-depth understanding of structural mechanics, including material strength, structural dynamics, and stability.
  5. Able to calculate stresses, deformations, thermal expansion, and resistance of materials.
  6. Familiar with properties of materials (metals, composites, polymers) and their application in the design of structures.
  7. Project management skills to plan, coordinate, and execute projects.
  8. Knowledge of safety standards, building codes, and applicable industrial regulations.
  9. Experience in carrying out prototype testing and validation of designs.
  10. Available for frequent site travel across the province and country if necessary.
  11. Bilingual.
