The FSQA Supervisor plays a critical role in protecting our food products by overseeing the implementation of food safety and quality procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, such as BRC and SQF, and supporting the HARPC Team in developing an effective Food Safety plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with GFSI standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support the development and implementation of the Food Safety plan
  • Document, control, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) including procedures, records, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Meet and exceed customer requirements
  • Reduce customer/consumer complaints through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the FSQA Technicians, including training and development, and clear identification of objectives to meet bakery needs
  • Report food safety and quality issues, corrective actions, and preventive measures to the Manager, FSQA
  • Coach, develop, and evaluate the performance of the FSQA Technicians
  • Ensure completion of Quality Assurance Procedures Annual review by all FSQA Technologists
  • Assist in investigating and disposing of finished product placed on hold due to quality issues
  • Maintain required hygiene, safety, and quality standards on the production floor

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or relevant post-secondary science-related courses
  • Training in HACCP and a GFSI standard such as BRC or SQF
  • Basic understanding of microbiology
  • 3 years of food industry manufacturing or quality experience, including supervisory experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of quality management and food safety systems
