Job Title: LTO Educational Assistant

We are seeking a qualified Educational Assistant to join our team on a Long Term Occasional basis. The successful candidate will provide support to students with special needs and work collaboratively with our teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • EA Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum six (6) month diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a child-related discipline and a minimum of one (1) year of related work experience
  • Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification
  • Proven ability and recent experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Training
  • Lifting/Positioning Training
  • Recent experience in a school-based setting
