Job Summary:
The Patient Care Assistant provides personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents of long-term care homes with behavioural challenges. Working with a team of healthcare professionals, the PCA enhances the quality of life for residents and provides crisis-intervention services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with personal care and daily activities
- Provide crisis-intervention services and support
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance resident care
Requirements:
- Certification as a Personal Support Worker
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with geriatric clients
- Ability to speak another language
- Experience with quality improvement processes
