Job Description:

We're seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team as a Patient Care Specialist. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in various hospital settings. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

As a Respiratory Therapist - Patient Care Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and assessing patients' respiratory conditions
  • Providing treatment and education to patients and their families
  • Performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including arterial line insertions, intubations, and tracheostomy tube changes
  • Collaborating with the interprofessional care team to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certificate (obtained within 6 months)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Computer literacy in Windows
Preferred Qualifications:

We also welcome applicants with:

  • Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate
  • A minimum of one year working experience in an acute healthcare setting
  • NICU and Labour & Delivery experience
  • Ability to speak a second language
