Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Volunteer Engagement Strategic Lead to join our Customer Care team. In this role, you'll lead strategic volunteer engagement initiatives to elevate the volunteer experience, attract new volunteers, and retain existing ones. You'll manage and coordinate Poverty Simulations, support Cabinet operations, deliver the Mentoring for Success program, and more.

About the Role
  • You will collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to oversee volunteer management and event coordination of volunteer-led community/public events.
  • You will actively pursue opportunities to highlight and showcase our volunteer engagement offerings and coordinate efforts for participation in local community volunteer events and fairs.
  • You will support the Program Manager, Volunteer Engagement in exploring partnership opportunities to increase brand awareness, visibility, and community support.
  • You will lead the volunteer lifecycle for cabinet members; including onboarding, supporting, and offboarding.
  • You will organize and deliver all aspects of the Mentoring for Success program for Sponsored Campaign Representatives (SCRs) including recruiting mentors, sourcing and securing consultants/facilitators to deliver workshops, program scheduling and logistics, preparing/creating supporting materials, on-going and final program evaluation, and planning the final wrap session event.
  • You will coordinate and lead volunteers for Poverty Simulation events.
  • You will facilitate Cabinet engagement through key functions including communications, engagement events planning, and support, recognition and meetings support & hosting and projects related to cabinet strategic plan deliverables.
  • You will support administrative functions for annual Cabinet recruitment strategies.
  • You will update cabinet role profiles and terms of reference annually.
  • You will maintain and troubleshoot the Cabinet Portal (SharePoint site).
  • You will provide support to Women United, GenNEXT, and ReUnited Cabinets by assisting associated staff partners with Cabinet operations.
About You

You are a skilled relationship builder who thrives in developing engaging relationships through trust, teamwork, and communication. You enjoy keeping things organized and have experience managing multiple projects.

You enjoy problem solving and are comfortable gathering, analyzing, and interpreting and utilizing all kinds of information in decision making. You are known for demonstrating accountability and striving for an excellent customer experience.

You have a knowledge of MS Office and databases (we use Salesforce) and are comfortable in a digitally focused environment.

Your background includes a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Social Sciences, Humanities or related field plus a minimum of two (2) years to three (3) years of related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

A valid driver's license and vehicle are required as some travel will be involved within Edmonton and the surrounding area. Availability to work on some occasional evenings or early morning is required.
