Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to lead our Baggage Programs and Projects team at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our baggage handling systems, while also driving innovation and improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans for baggage programs and projects, in collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the Baggage Programs and Projects team, including project planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, airlines, and other industry partners to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to measure team performance and progress.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure alignment and integration of baggage programs and projects with overall airport operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions and drive innovation.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, operations management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in the airport or airline industry.
  • Proven track record of success in project management, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
