About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Insights Specialist to join our team at White Cap Canada Inc. in Senior Pricing Analyst role.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in data analysis, with a strong background in statistical modeling and data visualization. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering disparate data from various sources, analyzing and normalizing it to ensure quality of data for analysis.

You will work closely with our clients to provide consistent, relevant, and accurate data, as well as guidance on data definitions and limitations. Your primary objective will be to identify key barriers and core problems, apply problem-solving skills creatively, and troubleshoot complex issues.

As a Data Insights Specialist, you will independently perform assignments with limited instruction, determine and develop approaches to solutions, and receive technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients alike.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and compile raw data; conduct research for industry trends and benchmarks; normalize data to be incorporated into a centralized data format.
  • Analyze, report, make comparisons to industry/company benchmarks, determine trends, and prepare cost analyses.
  • Define data definitions and document data limitations.
  • Prepare spreadsheets for data analysis; prepare reports with charts and graphs, mailing lists, maps, and ad hoc requests. May make presentations.
  • Provide recommendations based on findings and analysis. Provide input on policies and procedures.
  • Participate in department and interdepartmental projects. May serve as Team Lead. May train Analysts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
