The University of Niagara Falls Canada is a renowned educational institution, and we are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE) team.

About the Role

As an Instructional Designer, you will work closely with our CTE team and other academic units to develop interactive and research-grounded online courses. Your expertise in instructional design best practices will ensure that the content is engaging, inclusive, and meets the needs of diverse learners.

You will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create eLearning storyboards using creative designs and instructional best practices. Additionally, you will assist faculty in developing instructional materials, organizing content, and selecting appropriate media formats.

Your responsibilities will include designing, supporting, and facilitating workshops and learning sessions. You will also manage multiple projects, prioritize needs, and meet tight deadlines.

We are looking for someone who stays up-to-date on graphic design tools, educational trends, and practices to inform their instructional design decisions.

In this role, you will recommend improvements to course structure and quality based on evidence and feedback. You will also propose policies, procedures, and guidelines to support course development and delivery.

Requirements
  • Degree in Education or relevant field
  • Master's degree would be an asset
  • Certification in Instructional Design or equivalent experience
  • Quality Matters certification
  • Instructional design experience for a minimum of 2-4 years
  • Curriculum development experience would be an asset
