About the Role

We are seeking a skilled French translator to join our team at Sonovision Canada - Ortec Group. As a technical translator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our documents are translated accurately and efficiently.

As a dynamic and results-driven individual, you will work closely with our translation team to deliver high-quality translations of technical documents from English to French.

Responsibilities
  • Translate technical documents from English to French, preserving the original meaning and context.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and colleagues to understand specialized concepts and translate them appropriately.
  • Consult online translation tools for additional assistance with translation.
  • Use specialized translation software to ensure efficiency and consistency.
  • Adhere to industry quality standards to ensure that all completed work meets customer requirements.
  • Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check the quality of translation.
  • Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy.
  • Follow up with internal team members to ensure translation meets their needs.
  • Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (e.g., font and structure).
Requirements
  • Experience in translating technical documents from English to French.
  • University degree or college diploma, translation preferred.
  • Experience using computer-assisted translation software, Trados preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Aptitude and interest to learn and develop.
