Job Title: Technical Translator

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Translator to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As a Technical Translator, you will be responsible for translating technical documents from English to French, ensuring accuracy and precision in your work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate technical documents from English to French, including reports, manuals, and other technical materials.
  • Ensure that translations are accurate, precise, and meet the required standards.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure that translations are technically correct and meet the needs of our clients.
  • Use terminology banks and computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools to ensure consistency and accuracy in translations.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality translations.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Translation or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in translation, preferably in a technical field.
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English languages, including grammar, syntax, and vocabulary.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
