Job Title: Education Assistant II

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Assistant II to join our team at Parkland School Division. As an Education Assistant II, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks in the classroom and with other school activities.
  • Work as a member of the school and as a member of a student support team.
  • Provide routine and repetitive instructional support to students with special needs.
  • Assist students with personal care and hygiene, including feeding, dressing, and toileting.
  • Supervise students during activities and events, including field trips and recess.
  • Communicate with teachers and other staff members to ensure effective support for students.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Teacher Assistant Certificate or Educational Assistant Certificate is an asset.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and First Aid Certificate would be an asset.
  • Experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
Working Conditions:

As an Education Assistant II, you will work indoors and outdoors, supervising students during activities and events. You may be required to lift students and use mechanical lifts to assist with transfers. You will also be required to work in a variety of environments, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces.
