Job Title: Education Assistant II

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Assistant II to join our team at Parkland School Division. As an Education Assistant II, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of our students, particularly in Kindergarten.

Job Summary:

The Education Assistant II will provide instructional and non-instructional support to teachers and students in the classroom. This includes assisting with lesson planning, implementing individualized education plans, and providing behavioral support to students. The successful candidate will be a team player who is able to work independently and collaboratively with teachers, students, and other support staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks in the classroom
  • Implement individualized education plans for students
  • Provide behavioral support to students
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation
  • Communicate with teachers, students, and other support staff to ensure effective support
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Teacher Assistant Certificate or Educational Assistant Certificate (an asset)
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and First Aid Certificate (an asset)
  • Courses related to working with students with special needs (an asset)
  • 1-3 years of related experience
Working Conditions:

The Education Assistant II will work in a dynamic and fast-paced educational environment. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively with teachers, students, and other support staff. The position requires the ability to lift items that comply with safe lift and transfer guidelines and to work in a variety of positions, including sitting, standing, and kneeling.

  • A competitive salary range of $22.25-24.98/hour
