Job Title: Education Assistant II

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Assistant II to join our team at Parkland School Division. As an Education Assistant II, you will provide support to Kindergarten students in a dynamic and progressive school environment.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks, work with students individually and in small groups, and provide support with personal care and hygiene. This is a permanent part-time position working 16.14 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks
  • Work with students individually and in small groups
  • Provide support with personal care and hygiene
  • Assist with student transfers and mobility
  • Monitor and record student progress and behavior
  • Communicate with teachers and other staff members
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Teacher Assistant Certificate or Educational Assistant Certificate (an asset)
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and First Aid Certificate (an asset)
  • 1-3 years of related experience
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work indoors and outdoors, supervising students in various environments. They will also be required to lift and transfer students, and work with students who have physical and emotional needs.
