Strategic Business Leader for Auto Body Repair

The General Manager is the key individual accountable for overseeing the entire operation of our auto body repair facility. This role requires exceptional management abilities and expertise in the industry, ensuring the success of the facility in all aspects of the business.

Financial Oversight

Our General Manager will be responsible for managing and reporting the profitability of the facility on a monthly basis, reviewing the profit-and-loss statement with staff to ensure everyone is working towards a common goal. They will also identify and correct financial areas of concern, regularly evaluating business performance by monitoring key metrics such as estimates written, closing ratio, gross profit margin, and overhead budget.

Establishing Financial Goals

The General Manager will establish company-long term and short-term goals to ensure business direction is met, both from a monetary and professional perspective. This includes setting and monitoring company profit goals that reflect a standard overall gross profit, as well as performance in other areas. They will continually review operating expenses of each vehicle repaired and establish company closing ratios and standards to proactively pursue sales goals.

Day-to-Day Operations

The General Manager will review closed repair orders for quality, reporting, and management issues. They will participate in monthly business group meetings, share ideas on how the group can work better together to reach company goals, maintain local licenses and permits required to operate the business, provide backup for administrative associates, and ensure administrative tasks are distributed according to staff skills.

Human Resources and Safety

Our General Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, development, corrective action, and termination of all associates at the facility. They will hold daily, weekly, and monthly store meetings to train and inform associates of upcoming events and projects, resolve complaints and disputes tied to the facility, and ensure all associates receive required safety training as part of their orientation process.

Customer Service

The General Manager will produce customer satisfaction scores (CSI) that meet or exceed established standards and follow up on substandard CSI cards. They will set company standards of excellence by continually striving to improve levels of customer service and satisfaction, insurance company relationships, sales, and promotional efforts.

Experience/Skill Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in management or the industry. Key functional and technical knowledge requirements include advanced management software skills, intermediate Microsoft Office software skills, and intermediate estimating software skills. The ideal candidate will also possess strong business math skills, ICAR certification, WHMIS certification, first aid certification, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Estimated Salary Range

We offer an estimated salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This compensation package reflects the importance of this role in driving business success and ensuring customer satisfaction.
