Emergency Department Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our Emergency Services team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care and assessment in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences
- Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and guidelines to provide evidence-based care
Requirements:
- Registered Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized Community College
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum 2 years of acute medical/surgical nursing experience
- Experience working in an emergency department and/or ambulatory urgent care space (preferred)
- IV initiation, phlebotomy, and electrocardiogram interpretation skills (preferred)
- Competent in cardiac monitoring (preferred)
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset
