Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse - Emergency Department will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting. You will work closely with the nursing team to provide individualized care, utilizing your critical thinking skills and expertise to make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet their unique requirements.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices to enhance patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records, adhering to regulatory requirements and UHN policies.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
