About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Field Claims Adjuster to join our team, responsible for investigating and managing complex claims and losses for our personal and commercial lines of business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and assess policy wordings and damage to determine appropriate coverage
  • Analyze policyholder and witness statements to determine liability
  • Negotiate with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims within established authority scope
  • Actively participate in claims catastrophes (CATs) and work overflow when required
  • Build relationships and collaborate with different teams, including appraisal, underwriting, and legal
  • Manage costs efficiently and effectively
  • Stay up-to-date on insurance products and trends in appraisal and investigation techniques and services
Requirements
  • Hold a 5A Claims Adjuster Certificate
  • Have at least two years of experience as a property adjuster
  • Have a college diploma or equivalent work experience (an asset)
  • Have a working knowledge of the law
  • Be an excellent communicator in both French and English
  • Have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Be available to travel on short notice
