We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Assistant to join our team at N. Harris Computer Corporation - CAD. As a key member of our finance group, you will play a critical role in supporting the divisional VP's and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely completion of the monthly financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare revenue recognition schedules and related journal entries for software implementation contracts using the percent complete method
  • Provide support to the divisional VP's as needed
  • Assist in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely completion of the monthly financial statements
  • Review and analyze monthly results and assist in preparation of reporting to senior management
  • Manage group Account Receivable team
  • Interact with internal and external auditors
  • Assist with forecasting of net revenues and operating expenses
  • Assist in the management of divisional work-in-process and accounts receivable including oversight of the collections process
  • Ensure that established control procedures are in place and identify control risks
  • Assist in due diligence and integrating new acquisitions into the finance group
Requirements
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Full ownership of work
  • Desire to take initiative
  • Able to delegate effectively and take full ownership of delegated activities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Works well in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or accounting
  • Completion of a professional accounting designation program
  • Experience with Great Plains
  • Project accounting
  • 3+ years of work experience in an accounting or finance environment
