Job Summary:

Extendicare Canada Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at our continuing care facility in Red Deer, Alberta.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal assistance and support services to residents, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other daily living activities.
  • Communicate resident care needs, observations, and concerns to professional staff.
  • Participate in the orientation and mentorship of new Healthcare Assistants and students.
  • Interact with residents, families, and other team members regarding care needs.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality care.

Requirements:

  • Health Care Aide Certification or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in a long-term care setting is an asset.
  • Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
