Job Summary:The RN-RPN Emergency Psychiatry Specialist will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care required to assist patients in meeting their physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Provide direct nursing interventions for crisis and life-threatening situations
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
- Document patient information and progress
- Participate in nursing orientation and share clinical knowledge with other staff
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
- Two years' recent psychiatric nursing experience in a tertiary care emergency department and/or two years' recent acute psychiatric experience in a tertiary care facility or mental health facility
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others
- Ability to prioritize and organize work
