Job Title: RN-RPN Emergency Psychiatry Specialist

Providence Health Care is seeking a highly skilled RN-RPN Emergency Psychiatry Specialist to join our team at St. Paul's Emergency Department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional care to patients with complex psychiatric needs.

Job Summary:

The RN-RPN Emergency Psychiatry Specialist will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care required to assist patients in meeting their physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with acute psychiatric needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide direct nursing interventions for crisis and life-threatening situations
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
  • Document patient information and progress
  • Participate in nursing orientation and share clinical knowledge with other staff
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Two years' recent psychiatric nursing experience in a tertiary care emergency department
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team
