Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our Small Business Banking team in Canada. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing and executing sales strategies, and building strong relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage Sales Team: Oversee and direct a team of sales professionals to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
  • Develop and Execute Sales Strategies: Create and implement sales plans to drive business growth, identify new opportunities, and expand existing relationships.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understand their business needs, and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, develop and execute plans to pursue these opportunities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive growth.
  • Performance Management: Coach, develop, and evaluate the performance of sales team members, providing feedback and guidance to ensure they meet their sales targets and business objectives.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all sales activities are conducted in compliance with Scotiabank's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and that all risks are identified and mitigated.
Requirements
  • Education: University or college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Proven track record in sales leadership, business development, and client relationship management, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and coaching skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and a deep understanding of the banking and financial services industry.
  • Certifications: Moody's Certificate in Small Business or equivalent.
