Job Title: Governance Committee Member

Job Summary: We are seeking a Governance Committee Member to join our team at Sault Community Career Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, addressing, developing, and suggesting solutions for immediate and emerging governance issues for Garden River First Nation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Council Governance Portfolio holders providing support and recommendations on governance issues.
  • Update Chief and Council through the Council Governance Portfolio holders on a bi-monthly basis or as needed.
  • Update GRFN citizens on how governance issues will be addressed.
  • Provide regular updates to the GRFN community through various social media outlets.

Requirements:

  • Garden River First Nation Community Member.
  • Police Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check as required.
  • Asset: Education within Governance (Traditional), etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information, discussions, or proceedings taking place.
  • Act with honesty, in good faith, and in the best interest of the First Nation.
