Job Summary

The Chief Technology Officer provides strategic technology leadership to the Ottawa Senators Sports and Entertainment group, overseeing the planning, design, installation, integration, and sustainment of arena and business technology infrastructure and solutions. This role will also proactively lead the use of emerging technologies across SSE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and maintain a secure, resilient, and effective enterprise computing and communications environment.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of IT systems, software applications, and communications infrastructure.
  • Create and execute a best-in-class IT operations plan.
  • Direct and manage IT plans, schedules, policies, and programs for data processing, network communications, business operations, disaster recovery planning, computer services, and management information systems.
  • Identify and analyze relevant emerging information technologies and oversee implementation via iterative innovation programs.
  • Lead the development and execution of cybersecurity strategies.
  • Ensure mission-critical applications and technology are available to support the company's long-term goals and operational objectives.
  • Oversee all technology projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage technical related service delivery, including end-user desktop support, enterprise application support, and event and gameday support.
  • Lead and mentor the technology team towards a service-oriented, customer-focused culture.
  • Liaise with and manage external Technology partners and suppliers.
  • Serve as a committed member of the Executive Team, contributing to strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology or business-related discipline and a minimum of 10 years of progressive technology leadership roles.
  • Experience creating and executing a strategic technology vision for businesses.
  • In-depth understanding of corporate technology, data networking, telephony, and information security.
  • Proven record of developing and maintaining strong partnerships and collaborative spirit with peers.
  • Demonstrated strong and supportive leadership style.
  • Superior listening skills and intellectual ability to lead the team.
  • Disciplined and flexible with high personal integrity and a focus on organizational interests.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex technology concepts into accessible business terms.
  • Aptitude for independent decision-making, creative thinking, and innovation with technology.
  • Demonstrated logical, practical, and customer-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Applicable professional certifications would be an asset.
  • Experience with broadcast technologies would be an asset.
