Job Overview
We are seeking a calm, curious, and quirky individual to join our team as a Weekday Companion for a teen with ADHD/Autism and unconventional interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Spend quality time engaging in outdoor activities and exploring the teen's passions
- Plan and participate in field trips and outings that promote learning and development
- Assist with household chores and maintenance tasks in a collaborative and child-led manner
- Develop a supportive relationship with the teen, acting as a positive role model and mentor
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An understanding of ADHD, Autism, and Pathological Demand Avoidance
- Knowledge or skills in areas such as outdoor education, animal care, homesteading, and cooking
- A calm, flexible, and patient demeanor
- The ability to work collaboratively with parents and other caregivers
