About Our Organization
The Centre for Autism Services Alberta is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive supports and services to autistic individuals across the lifespan and spectrum. With office locations in Edmonton and Calgary, we strive to empower autistic people and their families to thrive.
Role Overview
As Executive Director, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our operational plan, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives. You will oversee program implementation, evaluate progress, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the operational plan, lead program implementation, and evaluate progress.
- Budgeting and Resource Management: Develop fiscal plans, monitor financial operations, and secure sustainable funding.
- Human Resource Management: Establish a positive work environment, promote fair treatment, and create a learning culture.
- Public Relations and Communication: Represent the organization, develop communication strategies, and build relationships with stakeholders.
- Partnership and Community Development: Engage with community leaders, gather data, and measure impact.
- Innovation and Project Management: Oversee organizational improvements, manage projects, and ensure effective risk management.
- Board Support: Provide strategic guidance, monitoring reports, and internal/external issue assessments.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess a graduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 10 years in a senior management role in the non-profit sector is required, along with experience in program development, organizational management, and financial oversight.
You must have a strong understanding of disability issues related to autism, early childhood services, employment services, FSCD, PDD, and relevant legislation. Clean criminal records and intervention record checks are also mandatory.

A successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with negotiation skills, self-awareness, and strong interpersonal, communications, risk management, and leadership skills. They must also believe in the values of inclusion, understand neurodiversity-affirming practices, and be committed to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
