About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team at H D B Farms Ltd. As a key member of our farm operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our farm, ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock, and maintaining the highest standards of farm safety and bio-security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Health and Welfare
    • Monitor the health and well-being of our livestock, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve animal health and productivity.
  • Operational Management
    • Oversee the daily operations of the farm, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
    • Coordinate and supervise the work of our farm workers and harvesting labourers.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of farm production, financials, and animal health.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports to management on farm performance and progress.
  • Staff Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop our farm staff, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively.
    • Manage staff performance, providing feedback and coaching to improve productivity and job satisfaction.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure that all farm operations are conducted in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks to the farm, its employees, and its operations.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a farm operations or management role
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong knowledge of farm operations, animal health, and bio-security
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
