Job Title: Track Maintenance Mechanic

Hastings Racecourse & Casino is seeking a skilled and experienced Track Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a Track Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our racetrack equipment, ensuring that our facilities are safe and operational.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on racetrack equipment, including trucks, tractors, and other machinery
  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify potential issues and prevent equipment failures
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on barn and track-area related equipment, including stall repairs, drain-cleaning, and painting
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts and cranes, as needed
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of other equipment and facilities as needed
Requirements:
  • Minimum Grade 12 education
  • Proven ability to drive and maneuver heavy equipment safely
  • Proven ability to perform vehicular maintenance and repairs to a high standard
  • Forklift experience an asset
  • Experience and general knowledge of handyman duties, such as basic carpentry and painting
  • Ability to work effectively without direct supervision and adapt to changing situations
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with regular exposure to heavy equipment and machinery. The candidate must be able to work at heights and in all weather conditions.
