Job Summary

At RailWorks, we are seeking a skilled Track Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of railway infrastructure, including track components and turnout systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and replace track components, such as rail, ties, and plates, as needed.
  • Inspect and report on track conditions, identifying potential problems or defects.
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment, ensuring daily maintenance and inspections are completed.
  • Perform special duties as assigned by the Track Maintenance Foreman.
  • Document maintenance activities and ensure compliance with PNR Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of track maintenance principles and practices.
  • Certified in Canadian Railway Operating Rules.
  • Ability to read and understand specific documents, including schedules and standard railway plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Working Conditions

  • Works outdoors at construction sites.
  • Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposed to all weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
  • Exposed to loud noise and live track/trains.
