Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Track Maintenance Technician to join our team at Great Canadian Entertainment. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our racetrack facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive water trucks and tractors on the racetrack as directed, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including changing components and performing basic mechanical work.
  • Assist with the handling and care of injured horses, including maneuvering them into the horse ambulance.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks in the barn and track areas, including stall repairs, drain cleaning, painting, and rock picking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and proven ability to drive and maneuver heavy trucks and tractors safely.
  • Proven ability to perform vehicular maintenance and repairs to a high standard.
  • Forklift experience an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively without direct supervision and adapt to changing situations.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in close proximity to horses.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy work and work at required heights in all weather conditions.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing situations.
