Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Practice Specialist to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a key member of our oncology program, you will be responsible for clinical teaching, staff development, and standardization of practice for the management of cancer services in the adult oncology patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical education programs for staff and patients
  • Collaborate with the oncology program team to plan, implement, and evaluate activities related to staff and patient education
  • Develop and review policies and procedures related to professional practice and clinical care
  • Provide supporting education and evaluation to staff and patients
  • Develop and monitor quality indicators within the program and participate in quality improvement activities
Qualifications
  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • BScN or BN required
  • Masters' Degree in Nursing, Education or Health Administration preferred
  • Certification in oncology nursing required
  • Active membership with CNO an asset
  • Membership in professional association
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in Oncology
  • Experience as an educator including the ability to design and deliver programs an asset
  • Demonstrated research skills an asset
  • Knowledge of Oncology Standards of Practice, Best Practice Guidelines and clinical management tools
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Skilled in Adult Learning Principles
  • Innovative, creative and professional role model
  • Ability to prioritize/organize multiple projects with strict deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
