Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Acute Care department, you will provide primary therapeutic, case management, and mental health and substance use support services to clients in hospital, residential, or community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients with mental health and substance use issues
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the inter-professional clinical team, clients, and families
  • Conduct risk assessments and behavioral care planning to ensure client safety and well-being
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clients
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and research evidence
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in a mental health and substance use related discipline, plus two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Strong assessment and treatment skills, with ability to integrate best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
