About the Role

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Mental Health and Substance Use program, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive individual and group therapy to clients with complex mental health needs
  • Conduct assessments, screenings, and intake services to determine client eligibility and develop treatment plans
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and crisis intervention
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and service providers to facilitate client access to necessary services
  • Provide education and support to clients and families on mental health and substance use issues, recovery processes, and relapse prevention strategies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and policies
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or a related field
  • Two years of experience working with clients and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders
  • Eligibility for registration with a relevant professional association
  • Valid Class V British Columbia driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health psychiatric assessment skills, crisis intervention techniques, and brief/short-term therapy skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Experience working in a team environment and contributing to interdisciplinary care planning
