Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team within the community of Crawford Bay, B.C.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the LIS, and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

What You Will Do

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing laboratory tests and procedures
  • Preparing and processing laboratory samples
  • Operating laboratory equipment
  • Entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Performing related clerical duties
  • Providing excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Grade 12
  • Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
  • One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Valid BC Driver's License

Please note that a typing test is required, and you must upload a copy of an invigilated typing test dated within the last 24 months.
