Structural Contract Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Contract Administrator to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our structural engineering service, you will be responsible for contract administration and project coordination.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in civil engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in building construction. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels, including project stakeholders and clients.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting field reviews and shop drawing reviews to ensure adherence to contract documents
  • Reviewing contractor quotes for change orders
  • Responding to RFIs from contractors to provide clarity and direction
  • Reviewing progress billings and issuing Site Instructions
  • Attending regular site meetings with contractors, other consultants, and clients

You will also assist in budgeting, coordinating, and monitoring Contract Administration hours, as well as manage contract administration for several projects in parallel involving multiple internal and external teams.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, clients, and colleagues, and perform analysis and structural design where necessary.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction, with a focus on concrete, steel, wood, and masonry. You will also require the ability to use programs such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including flexible working hours, commitment to staff growth through mentoring and training, employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums, and more.
