About the Role

We're seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Claims Assistant II to join our growing team at Intact Financial Corporation.

As a Legal Claims Assistant II, you will provide administrative support to our lawyers, including scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and preparing pleadings. You will also implement an effective diary system to manage the lawyer's practice and partner with assigned lawyers to manage workflow and scheduling.

You will be responsible for supporting clients with scheduling appointments, exchanging information, and communicating case progress. Additionally, you will review and manage documents using software programs, ensuring electronic filing is up to date.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to lawyers, including scheduling meetings and drafting correspondence
  • Implementing an effective diary system to manage the lawyer's practice
  • Partnering with assigned lawyers to manage workflow and scheduling
  • Supporting clients with scheduling appointments and exchanging information
  • Reviewing and managing documents using software programs

Requirements:

  • College diploma from a legal office administration or law clerk program, or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in insurance defence litigation
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong document management skills and ability to learn Intact's software programs
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize with a disciplined approach to work
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
