Legal Claims Assistant II

We're seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Claims Assistant II to join our growing team at Intact Financial Corporation.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to provide administrative support to our lawyers and help manage the workflow of our insurance defence litigation team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and preparing pleadings.
- Implement an effective diary system to help manage the lawyer's practice.
- Partner with assigned lawyers to manage workflow, schedule appearances, and monitor calendars.
- Support clients in scheduling appointments, exchanging information, and communicating case progress.
- Review and manage documents using software programs, ensuring electronic filing is up to date.
- Provide support to assistants, clerks, lawyers, and management.
- Proficiency in dictation with a high degree of accuracy.
- Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Requirements
- College diploma from a legal office administration or law clerk program, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in insurance defence litigation.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong document management skills and ability to learn Intact's software programs.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize with a disciplined approach to work.
- Excellent communication, listening, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a team or independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative.
- Working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
