Job Title: General Cook 2

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Cook 2 to join our culinary team at Silver Hotel Group. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for the preparation and production of all menu items, ensuring high-quality dishes are delivered to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and production of all menu items, including soups, sauces, and entrees.
  • Participate in the organization and execution of daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, cooking, and plating.
  • Ensure timely and efficient service, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to achieve menu goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items and specials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of kitchen experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
  • Completion of a post-secondary culinary program an asset.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Current Food Safe Certification.

Working Conditions:

  • Hotel and hospitality kitchen environment.
  • Varying shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking during peak operation periods.
  • Physical demands include, but are not limited to, walking, standing, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 40 lbs frequently.

Salary Range: $19.09/hour
