About the Role

This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services. As an Administrative Healthcare Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide desk reception services, including handling telephone inquiries, scheduling appointments, and arranging patient referrals.
  • Perform various clerical tasks, such as typing, copying, assembling, and maintaining files and charts, as well as transcribing patient notes, correspondence, and reports.
  • Enter data into the Teleplan System for patient registrations and MSP billing information.
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patient visits, including setting up instruments and equipment.
  • Escort patients to their designated examination rooms.
  • Receive payments from patients and record them in the cash receipts journal.
  • Assist with ordering, maintaining, receiving, and checking supplies, equipment, and reference materials.
  • Orient new staff and students to the department.
  • Report unusual occurrences and risk management issues.
  • Participate in committees and attend meetings related to job duties.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 and two years' recent experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 35 words per minute.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work and operate related equipment.
