Senior Accounting Technician Opportunity

Baker Tilly KDN LLP is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Technician to join our team. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional bookkeeping and payroll services to our clients.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide bookkeeping assistance to clients, including QuickBooks, Sage 50, and CaseWare
  • Process transactions in integrated cloud-based systems
  • Apply critical thinking to assess transactions and determine accounting treatment
  • Process payroll for clients and associated remittances
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Complete and submit ROEs
  • Prepare client reports as required
  • Prepare T4s, T4As, and T5018s
  • Produce accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Onboard new clients and develop accounting workflows and process documentation
  • Provide ongoing training and support for clients in bookkeeping
  • Mentor team members to maximize their potential and build personal and team growth

Requirements:
  • Graduation from a postsecondary institution – bookkeeping diploma would be an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in public practice or for multiple clients with strong bookkeeping skills
  • Critical thinking and trouble shooting skills are essential
  • Advanced experience with cloud-based accounting software
  • Intermediate Excel skills a must and advanced would be an asset
  • Ability to change priorities quickly and easily, meet recurring deadlines, and take ownership of assigned client work
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and develop
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong client and interpersonal skills – our clients mean the world to us
  • Approachable, supportive team player with a strong sense of urgency and a demonstrated history of achieving common goals
