Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Retail Business Manager to join our team at Batteries And Gadgets. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our retail store, ensuring that sales targets are met, and providing exceptional customer service.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of managing staff, inventory, and finances. You will be responsible for:

  • Supervising Staff: Oversee the performance of sales staff, apprentices, and design team members to ensure they meet their targets and provide excellent customer service.
  • Assigning Tasks: Assign duties to sales workers based on their strengths and weaknesses to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Hiring and Training: Hire and train new staff members or arrange for training to ensure they are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Authorizing Payments: Authorize payments by cheque, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ordering Merchandise: Order merchandise and manage inventory levels to ensure that we always have the right products in stock.
  • Returning Merchandise: Authorize the return of merchandise, following our company's policies and procedures.
  • Establishing Work Schedules: Establish work schedules for staff members, taking into account their availability and workload.
  • Selling Merchandise: Sell merchandise to customers, ensuring that they receive excellent service and are satisfied with their purchases.
  • Preparing Reports: Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to help us make informed business decisions.
  • Resolving Issues: Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints, supply shortages, and other operational challenges.
  • Managing Inventory: Organize and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that we always have the right products in stock.
  • Coordinating Activities: Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Managing Cash: Manage cash handling procedures, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Overseeing Payroll: Oversee payroll administration, ensuring that all staff members are paid accurately and on time.
  • Conducting Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews with staff members, providing feedback and coaching to help them improve their performance.
