About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recovery-oriented treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
  • Provide individual, group, and family support using a variety of interviewing, counseling, and assessment methods.
  • Assess client needs, including emotional, physical, social, spiritual, economic, and mental status, and determine priority of care.
  • Facilitate client utilization of community services and rehabilitative programs, including researching and liaising with available services and program providers.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients, providing information about appeal processes and assisting clients to complete forms.
  • Make necessary arrangements for clients to be admitted to hospital, including acquiring background information, ensuring completion of appropriate forms, and making necessary phone calls to appropriate parties.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an Allied Health Discipline from a recognized program.
  • Two years' recent, related experience working with clients and families with, or affected by, mental illness and substance use disorders, including one year of experience working with Indigenous clients.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous health approaches, protocol, and cultural issues.
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
