Ecology Team Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Group Manager to lead our North Ecology team, part of the Ecology and Environmental Impact Assessment (EcoEIA) business in BC and Yukon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise to support a variety of projects that range in type, size, and complexity.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of 15+ ecologists and biologists, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to deliver high-quality projects.
- Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Business Development: Participate in business development activities to support the growth of the Ecology team and strengthen client relationships.
- Financial Management: Monitor financial results and work with the EcoEIA Director and Vice President to implement changes or improvements to achieve desired financial results.
- Communication and Collaboration: Foster collaboration across the EcoEIA team and other WSP Business Lines, ensuring effective communication and a positive working environment.
- Education: University degree (minimum undergraduate) in environmental or natural sciences, environmental engineering, or other directly related disciplines.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in a consulting environment with a focus on ecological project delivery.
- Professional Registration: Professional registration (R.P.Bio, P. Biol., P.Ag, RPP, etc.)
- Skills: Strong business acumen and financial management experience, developing, tracking, and forecasting on annual budgets. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated success in team management and leadership, with a focus on fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
