Job Overview

Metro Inc. is a leading Canadian grocery retailer, and we're seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support our distribution centers in Ontario. As part of our HR team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide human resources support to our distribution centers, including payroll administration and HR guidance.
  • Support the execution of various HR programs, including recruitment, training, and employee relations.
  • Work closely with internal HR departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Advises management on employee relations issues related to performance management, absence management, and policy adherence.
  • Oversee a payroll team responsible for the integrity of our HR/payroll management system.
  • Ensure timely and accurate administration and weekly payroll process for all Ontario distribution centers.
  • Apply established controls to monitor compliance, including ongoing examination of the system through audits and analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years related experience and CHRL/CHRM designation is an asset.
  • Experience in supervising, including performance management.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Coaching, investigating, time management, teamwork, and high degree of professionalism.
  • Working knowledge of ESA and Human Rights.
  • In-depth knowledge of the HR system functions, SAP is an asset.

Estimated Salary Range

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
