Job Summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a skilled and compassionate Part Time Caseworker to join our team at the Brantford Booth Centre. As a key member of our social services team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in need and helping them achieve stability and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of clients and provide individualized support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Conduct intakes and assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized plans.
  • Provide counseling and referral services to clients, connecting them with community resources and support networks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and service providers to ensure seamless referrals and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement programs and services that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, part-time position with 15 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is required, and the work schedule will be determined in consultation with your supervisor.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • University/College diploma in Social Services or a related field.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificates.
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Experience and Knowledge
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community-based resources and services.
Skills and Capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Competent in word processing equipment, such as Windows XP, Microsoft Office, Excel.
  • Ability to work with socially disadvantaged individuals who may harbor resentment and anger.
  • Ability to work with federal release clients to develop and carry out a life plan.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and implement goals and plans for self and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and under supervision.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to forty pounds.
  • The Enhanced Reliability Screening with Corrections Canada is required.
  • Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion.
